Drew and Olivia's Sun Valley Mountaintop Wedding

Sun Valley Resort, Sun Valley, Wedding, Idaho, Traditional

Growing up in Sun Valley, Idaho, there's this saying: "If you don't like the weather, wait five minutes." Well, this is sometimes true. On this day, it didn't change after five minutes. Or an hour. Or three. The bridal party was doing an excellent job keeping their cool, even though it was downpouring the entire time they were getting ready. Eventually the planner showed up and told Olivia she had to make some decisions... a fully outdoor wedding just wasn't going to happen. Either they move the ceremony indoors - which by the way, has one of the most coveted views in Idaho - or the dinner. After some weather nerding and radar checking (shoutout to my boyfriend Griffin for all the logins) we decided we just had to take the risk on having the ceremony outdoors.

After a lovely morning of hair and makeup, the skies started to part just as Olivia's mom Jane helped her into her dress. Sunlight poured through the bedroom window, and the ground dried up just enough for Olivia and Drew to have their first look on the River Run bridge. The stars were really aligning, and we had the most perfect blue sky, windless, and warm ceremony at the iconic Roundhouse Lodge on Sun Valley Resort. A photographer's dream, really (shoutout to all the vendors who were scrambling to make sure things didn't get wet beforehand).

The wedding team at Sun Valley Resort did an amazing job making the dinner at River Run lodge run smoothly and executed a perfect party. Drew and Olivia definitely brought the dance moves and the love throughout the day. It was so fun hanging with this couple! And yes... the white sunglasses were a MOMENT.
